Why AR ?
AR apps come very handy if you are travelling to a foreign place and you do not know the local language which makes it becomes difficult to ask for directions, which I found was a major tourist pain point during my research.
Location-based AR apps are convenient because they guide you while you’re looking at a real scene. Additionally, you receive information about the places coming into sight, including their descriptions, historical facts, and photos or videos of the interior.

Engaging in the Sikkim AR App project provided valuable insights into how augmented reality (AR) technology can help solve problems for travelers. One key lesson was the importance of studying user challenges through research. Discovering the struggles that tourists face when trying to find their way in a foreign land without knowing the language emphasized the potential for innovative solutions like AR apps. Additionally, the project showcased the convenience and efficiency of location-based AR apps in offering immediate guidance and information. By superimposing digital information over the real world, users can easily navigate unfamiliar places and access relevant details about nearby locations.
